The use of technology in education is increasingly important. Technology has become a tool and a subject of study, offering new possibilities in education.
To increase the use of technology in higher education, Semarang State University (UNNES) signed a collaboration agreement with Google Indonesia on Monday (10/09).
The memorandum of understanding was signed by UNNES Rector, Prof. Dr. S Martono, M.Si., and Country Manager Enterprise; Public Sector, Google Indonesia, Anang Efendy.
UNNES Rector S Martono expressed gratitude because Google has supported UNNES in developing Information Technology(IT)-based learning. Optimal utilization of IT makes UNNES one of the most advanced universities in IT. This is evidenced by many IT-based learning facilities and the number of universities that conduct comparative studies on using IT to UNNES.
“I hope that the current cooperation can provide optimal sustainable benefits, and hope the cooperation is not limited to legality but can develop for other activities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anang Efendy is ready to support UNNES by providing IT system services for all UNNES communities.
“Google supports talent at UNNES to be future-ready, so that the industry’s needs for the future are met.”
According to him, three parties must work optimally for future technology development: industry, universities as talent providers, and the government as regulatory providers.
In the same activity, UNNES also conducted an Implementation Agreement with PT. Indonesian Generation Reform (Refo). The implementation of this collaboration was signed by Pepita Gunawan as Founder and Managing Director of Refo with 9 Faculty Deans and 1 UNNES Postgraduate Director.
