UNNES Fortifies Global Reputation through International Collaboration with NTUNHS Taiwan

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to solidify its reputation as a quality education center. This is evident through the acceptance of one lecturer and seven short course students from the National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS), Taiwan, on Monday (3/7/2023). The enrollment of international students serves as tangible proof that UNNES is continuously enhancing global collaborations in the field of education.

The seven students, namely Hsu Tsung Kai, Wang Kuan Lin, Hsu Chia Le, Xue Yu Quan, Yu Ting Jie, Chen Yu Ching, and Li Yi Zhen, are from the Exercise and Health Science program at the National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences, Taiwan. Accompanied by their accompanying lecturer, Huang Wen Ching, these seven students will undergo the program for one month, starting from May 30th until July 27th, 2023. They will engage in intensive learning, practical activities, as well as cultural interactions with local students.

Present to welcome the group was Dr. Ngabiyanto, M.Si., the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Information Systems of UNNES, who received the lecturer and students from NTUNHS.

“This program is a manifestation of UNNES’s commitment to developing internationally standardized education. The collaboration with NTUNHS Taiwan will provide valuable experiences for both parties in enriching academic and cultural perspectives,” expressed Dr. Ngabiyanto.

Furthermore, this short course program is also expected to enhance the students understanding of global challenges and cultural differences. In this era of globalization, the ability to adapt to diverse environments and have a broad understanding of cultural diversity is crucial.

Huang Wen Ching, the accompanying lecturer, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by UNNES. He hopes to learn and exchange knowledge between NTUNHS and UNNES.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for us to get to know Indonesia, particularly the city of Semarang and UNNES,” explained Huang Wen Ching.

The short course participants are also scheduled to visit several tourist attractions and cultural destinations in Semarang and its surroundings. It is hoped that their interaction with the local community will enrich their experience in gaining a deeper understanding of Indonesia.

UNNES success in attracting the interest of international students to participate in educational programs at the university has significant implications, especially for both universities. Through the exchange of knowledge and culture, NTUNHS and UNNES students can broaden their horizons and gain invaluable experiences.

By accepting seven short course students from NTUNHS, UNNES once again strengthens its reputation as an educational institution capable of competing globally. Such international collaborations will have a positive impact on enriching the academic environment and opening doors to wider collaboration opportunities in the future.
